Do you fully appreciate the need to delay the hoist of a spinnaker because bow has broken a nail? Do you see the value of a colour coordinated crew? Do you think the real challenge about Cork Week is how many champagne corks you pop rather than ensuring you've rounded the mark without incurring a protest??
If you can answer yes to all or any of the above then this Cork Week crew may just be the one for you!
But seriously, we're an all female crew made up of LCSC members with a solid racing history behind us. Half of our crew competed in last years Fastnet race on the infamous Bojangles (and no boys that's not why we've decided to go it alone this year!!). Between us we've cruised across the Atlantic, raced across the Channel, courageously participated in a number of winter and spring series campaigns with the Club and survived Cork Week 2004. We've come through it all with many tales to tell, some great matching crew kit and thankfully physically unscathed!! We have a professional skipper, Sam Connolly on board for the week (for some reason he's very excited about the prospect!), and we're now looking
for one or two further club members to join the team.
We would love if you have some racing experience behind you and are happy to be where the action is in the cockpit when Sam calls the action but most of all we're looking for people who can fit in with a crew committed to working hard and having loads of fun for the week. The cost per person will be approx £700 for the week to include a training weekend. Flights are not included though there is the option to get some miles in taking the boat across to Cork. (the more crew we have the lower the cost get. This is not a charter boat - my friends are buying it)
If anyone is interested - pleasse let me know as soon as possible.
